When acquiring a used car, you usually have two options: cash or financing. Paying cash means you’ll own the car outright, can drive it as often as you like, and customize it right out of the gate.

On the other hand, financing is usually a long-term plan in which you make monthly payments to eventually own the car. Once the payment cycle is complete, you’ll own it outright. During the loan period, you might be able to refinance, assuming you don’t miss a payment and you have a suitable credit score.
